Using this site
studentbn.com is the website of Student Benefit Network, a brand of Prospect Digital LLC (“we”). By reading it, sending us a message or signing up for text updates, you accept these terms. Anyone who does not accept them should not use the site.
What the network is
Student Benefit Network publishes free, plain-language guides and articles about student aid and the everyday benefits a college student can look into, and sends optional reminders by text and email.
Student Benefit Network is an independent information site: not a government agency, and not affiliated with the U.S. Department of Education, any state agency or any school. We do not award, lend, decide or apply for any grant, loan or benefit; the program or office named on each page does that.
Information only
The guides describe programs in general terms. Rules, amounts and dates are set by each program and change over time, and they depend on your own circumstances. Before you rely on anything here, confirm it with the office that runs the program. Nothing on the site is legal, tax or financial advice.
Free forms stay free
Filing the FAFSA is free, and so is applying for public benefits. We never ask for payment to explain, prepare or file a form, and anyone who does is not acting for us.
Your part
You must be at least 13 to use the contact form and at least 18 to sign up for texts, or have a parent's or guardian's permission. The details you send must be your own and accurate. You can ask us at any time to correct them or to cancel your sign-up.
SMS text messaging
Program description
Student Benefit Network text updates is a program of recurring automated marketing text messages sent directly by Student Benefit Network to people who have opted in. The messages are reminders about student aid and benefit dates, notes about new guides on the topic you chose when you signed up, and replies about your sign-up or a message you sent. Each text begins [Student Benefit Network].
How you opt in
You opt in by entering your mobile number on the text updates page or the contact form and checking the text message box yourself. We never check it on your behalf.

Accuracy and liability
We take care to keep each page correct, but programs change faster than any summary of them, so we cannot promise that every page is complete or current. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for any loss that comes from using the site or from a decision you make about aid or benefits.
Changes to these terms
From time to time these terms are revised. The date at the top of the page shows the current version, and the version in force on the day you use the site is the one that applies.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
